Getting Started
Permissions
Who can use which commands, and how to give your mods extra powers safely.
In short
- Moderation commands need the matching Discord permission. To use
,banyou need Ban Members. - Fake permissions let a role use a command through wisp without getting the real permission.
- Only the server owner can hand out fake permissions.
What are fake permissions?#
Say you want your moderators to be able to ban people with wisp, but you don't want them to have the real Ban Members permission in Discord. That's what fake permissions are for.
A role with a fake permission can use that command through wisp only. They still can't do it from Discord's own menus.
Set it up#
Discord
,fakeperms add Moderator ban_members
Now anyone with the Moderator role can use ,ban. Add more than one by separating them with commas, like ban_members, kick_members.
Fake permissions are powerful. Only give them to roles you trust.
